Gary and his wife Pam realized their life long dream of having a homestead by moving to 5 acres on Whidbey Island in 2003. Whidbey Island is located in Puget Sound, about 50 miles north of Seattle Washington.

They currently have four pure bred Nubian dairy goats, one Nubian buck and one Boer buck, chickens, Muscovy ducks, and geese. With their animals, twenty-three fruit trees, berry bushes, and a large vegetable garden, Pam and Gary produce over 80% of their food on their farm. "We are located about 2 miles south of the Greenbank Store, about 1.5 miles west of Highway 525. We border the back part of South Whidbey State Park called the Classic U addition, the only old growth forest on South Whidbey Island. Our homestead is beautifully secluded but accessible." Pam is a special needs school teacher in Everett and Gary sells real estate full time for Coldwell Banker in Freeland.
